2009 was a year when bricks and mortar turned into clicks and events-based book selling. We at TINARS felt the loss of our own bricks, Pages Books and Magazines and the year closed with the demise of McNally Robinson's barely 8 month old Don Mills location.

The most influential and widely-read website of its kind in Canada, Torontoist, announced today that it has formed a media alliance with TINARS.

It doesn’t sell online and it doesn’t have a physical location. It doesn’t pay rent, keep business hours, or have tables and shelves. But it still sells books, it’s still independent, and it still attracts a crowd.
